A crow

Black and white, today! I think it's the 2nd time I post a black and white photo in my gallery. The next one will be for a portrait but I don't know when I'll post it.

I saw that crow far on a tree as I was taking a walk in the "sand-sea" in Stambruges, near the place I work. I was very nervous because the automatic mode of the camera didn't want to focus on it! So I shooted it in manual. It was the 1st time I thought that manual was easier than automatic; Now, I always shoot in manual.

I hope youl'll like this 2nd black and white! I like the atmosphere in it.

Yes, the atmosphere is great. Kind of textured gritty tree limbs and needles. The bird tops it off in a real eye-capturing way.

Et bien, c'est très réussi. L'ambiance est en effet très particulière, comme quoi ça peut tenir à peu de chose si le sujet est maîtrisé.
J'ai moi-même fait mes premières MaP manuelles hier, pour shooter à travers le haut d'épis de blé au premier plan. On verra ce que ça donne !

@Stan Pulsar: C'est tellement plus agréable que l'automatique... finalement c'est surtout ça qui me plait maintenant.. outre la bonne lumière, la bonne technique en choisissant l'ouverture et la vitesse, tout ça... j'aime beaucoup passer du temps à chipoter à la mise au point manuelle, surtout en macro! J'attends de voir tes photos d'hier ;-)

It looks dramatic. I know from experience how hard it is to take a pic of a bir din a tree and make it look nice. Beautifully done.

Heureusement votre méchanique automatique refusait, grace à ca nous avons cette photo magnifique! Quand je la voyais, je me demandais comment on acquit un résultat comme ca! Pour encadrer et attacher au mur!

@Erik: If only I could speak Dutch as good as you speak French! Do you prefer French or English? Thank you for your comment! To get it like that, I did it in manual and on lightroom (adobe), I pushed up the blacks and the exposition. And tadaaaaaaaam ;-) Thank you!
